Our
Staff
In
a Montessori learning environment a teacher is referred to as a "Directress".
As
a Directress, it is one's responsibility to guide the child in his/her
endeavors. Dr. Montessori recognized the motto of the young child to be
"help me to do it myself". She believed the purpose of a directress
is not to let children only do what they want to do, but to insure that
children like what it is they need to do.
Directresses
at Brevard Montessori have many options, but this is the place they have
chosen to be. Here they are able to fulfill their professional
aspirations to work with children in a high quality Montessori learning
environment. Directresses are not merely employees, but partners
in an important mission, the preparation of a child for life.
Our Montessori directresses have 48 years combined experience in a Montessori
learning environment. Our staff members are dedicated professionals
whose goal is to provide a well-prepared, developmentally appropriate Montessori
learning environment for children. Brevard Montessori supports this
goal through a well-equipped classroom, inservice training, and professional
development opportunities for our staff members.
