History of Brevard Montessori School
On May 27th,1998, Sandy McDonald and a group of highly motivated and dedicated families met together with a common vision of creating a not-for-profit Montessori learning environment for the children of Brevard County.
At that meeting, the vision began to turn into reality. Work immediately focused upon the development of a charter and corporate by-laws which gave each member a vote in school matters; procurement of start-up funds, resources and a facility; employment of qualified teachers and enrollment of students.
The results of these families efforts was extraordinary. These accomplishments were successfully met within such a short period of time. On July 6th, the school's charter was submitted and approved by the Circuit Court Judge.
On July 13th, a school facility was secured and teachers were hired. On August 26th, the American Dream came alive as Brevard Montessori School opened its doors for the first time.
