Make A Difference Day 2011

It is with great enthusiasm that we announce our Make a Difference Day community service project for 2011. We have partnered with Soles4Souls Inc. to organize a shoe drive benefiting people living in extreme poverty and recovering from natural disasters.
We will be collecting new and gently worn footwear of ALL sizes, styles and colors during the month of October in honor of Make A Difference Day which will be held nationally on October 22nd.
We are inviting the residents of Indian Harbour Beach, Satellite Beach, Indialantic and Melbourne Beach to join us in our mission to collect 400 pairs of shoes to help our global community. Individuals may drop off shoe donations at our school between 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday from October 3rd through October 31st.
Soles4Souls Inc. is a shoe charity with a commitment to collect and distribute shoes to people in need. They provide one pair of shoes to a person in need every 7 seconds. In the past 6 years, they have distributed more than 13 million pairs of shoes through the efforts of individuals, organizations and industry partners. Soles4Souls Inc. is a 501(c)(3) recognized by the IRS and donations are eligible for tax advantages.
To launch our shoe drive, we invite each child to donate at least one pair of new or gently worn shoes on Monday, October 3rd.
We encourage you to involve your child in the selection of their shoe donation they will bring to school. Their shoe donation may result in a child being able to attend school! The children are welcome to bring in donations collected from your relatives and neighbors! All shoes collected will be delivered to the Soles4Souls warehouse located in Jacksonville, FL at the end of the project.
This is a very important event for the children. Not only does it help the children develop a sense of pride in their community and begin their foundation of civic awareness, it also enables them to be able to make a difference in the world in which they live. Please spread the word to help ensure that our project is an overwhelming success for Soles4Souls Inc.
